Aligning 1H/30M Swings
The lesson runs in four steps: the 4H profile, key levels, aligning a swing, and SMT. You start on the 4H to know what kind of move you're in, then drop to the 1H/30M to line up a swing with it.

The lesson runs in four steps: the 4H profile, key levels, aligning a swing, and SMT. You start on the 4H to know what kind of move you're in, then drop to the 1H/30M to line up a swing with it.
In a 4H reversal profile, price takes a low or a high and the next 4H candle reverses away from it. The slide shows both versions: a low taken and price reversing up, and a high taken and price reversing down.
In a 4H continuation profile, the 4H candle takes a nearby low or high and then keeps going in the same direction. The slide shows both versions: price continuing up after taking a low, and continuing down after taking a high.
A range is one kind of key level. Mark the high and the low of the range, and watch how price reacts around them. In the example, price builds a range between the marked levels and ends by taking the low.
Here the key level is the shaded fair value gap (FVG) inside the move. Price reacts from it (internal) and then expands out toward the external high. That tells you the fair value gap is doing its job as a key level.
This is the opposite direction. Price runs out to an external high, then reverses back down into the internal fair value gap (FVG). The gap is where you'd expect price to react.
On the left is the 4H, with a low taken and a reversal up. On the right is the 1H/30M, where the swing lines up with that 4H move: the move forms from the fair value gap and runs up with the 4H, with SMT marked along the way.
SMT is how you confirm the 4H low. The slide marks the SMT at the low, and price then climbs from it. With the SMT there, the swing is lined up with the 4H profile.
If there's no SMT at the 4H low, a PSP can confirm it instead. The example shows a PSP at the low, followed by price moving up with the swing.
